XConnect and Honey Badger Partner to combine Network APIs with unique real-world identity datasets
XConnect, a Somos Company, and Honey Badger, have announced a partnership that brings together two complementary strengths to create something neither company could deliver alone.
Rather than simply exchanging technology, the partnership combines XConnect’s global mobile identity and number intelligence with Honey Badger’s unique real-world identity data to create richer, intelligent decisioning across customer journeys.
Mark Harvey, Chief Identity Officer at XConnect, comments:
“The industry has spent years talking about APIs. We’re moving beyond the conversation. The Network API winners will be the organisations that know how to combine the right intelligence, from the right sources, at exactly the right moment. This partnership proves what’s possible when two specialists bring genuinely different solutions to the table. Together we’re delivering something the market simply hasn’t had before. Richer intelligence. Better decisions. More confidence. If you think you’ve seen what’s possible with digital identity, try this. I think you’ll be surprised just how far our industry has moved on.”
Under the partnership, Honey Badger will integrate XConnect’s global Network APIs and mobile identity services into its platform, extending its solutions with trusted mobile network intelligence from operators worldwide. At the same time, XConnect will incorporate Honey Badger’s proprietary identity datasets into its own portfolio, enabling customers to combine real-world KYC intelligence* with mobile network signals and advanced trust solutions such as XConnect’s Pulse.
The result is a layered approach to digital trust, a win-win for customers that goes far beyond individual APIs. Customers can begin with intelligent pre-qualification, enrich their decisions with trusted mobile network signals, and further strengthen verification using Honey Badger’s unique identity data.
Matt Salisbury, CEO and Founder, Honey Badger comments:
“At Honey Badger, we care about solving real problems for our customers. That’s why we believe multiple data sources, orchestrated to maximise coverage and trust, are far more powerful than any single API. By combining our unique identity data with XConnect’s Global Network Intelligence, we’re moving customers beyond discrete data points to answering the identity and trust questions they’re asking.”
The partnership is a shared agreement to deliver agile, globally scalable identity services that combine complementary strengths rather than duplicate them, helping enterprises and payment platforms move to intelligent identity decisioning.
*KYC intelligence
KYC intelligence means using data and analytics to make Know Your Customer (KYC) checks more effective, through understanding who a customer is, assessing the risks they pose, and spotting suspicious or fraudulent activity, and doing this in a constant process with ongoing monitoring. It is broader than simply verifying someone’s identity; it is about turning customer and business data into actionable risk information.
It can include:
Identity and fraud verification – checking that a person or business is genuine.
Customer risk assessment – identifying higher-risk customers, especially against those that hold a duty of care to the public or an organisation.
Anti-money laundering checks – screening against sanctions, watchlists, checking the orignal source of monies.
Business intelligence – checking company ownership, directors and corporate relationships.
The use of AI – combining multiple data sources to identify risks and patterns more quickly.
