Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) provider Nile has appointed Mike Weston as President of International Sales and Operations.
Weston will play a pivotal role in driving Nile’s next phase of global growth across Europe, UAE, Qatar, Asia Pacific and Japan, helping customers modernise their network infrastructure through Nile’s award-winning secure NaaS offering for branch and campus deployments in local area networks. Weston will report to Pankaj Patel, co-founder and CEO of Nile. Patel comments
“With the market acceptance for Nile’s innovative, secure NaaS solution increasing, it is a good time to bring leaders in global locations to fuel our growth. Mike brings decades of leadership with a proven track record of accelerated business growth. We’re thrilled to have him join us at Nile.”
Weston brings more than 30 years of global leadership experience spanning the technology, networking, and enterprise IT industries, commencing in the UK and subsequently spending over 20 years across Central Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. He joins Nile after serving for over two years as Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Business Machines for the company’s regional operations based out of the UAE. While there, he built on the company’s strategic vision for the region and led the organisation’s growth trajectory as an end-to-end digital solutions provider with a broad portfolio, including industry-leading digital infrastructure, digital business solutions, security and services.
Prior to Gulf Business Machines, he held senior executive leadership roles with IBM’s Middle East and Asia Pacific operations. Earlier in Weston’s career, he also held senior executive leadership positions with Cisco, Tivoli Systems and Computer Associates.
Mike Weston, new President of International Sales and Operations of Nile, takes the opportunity to comment:
“Nile’s vision of delivering secure, autonomous NaaS — one that’s secure by design, powered by AI, and built around user experience while radically simplifying the operations model — is exactly what the industry has been waiting for. Organizations everywhere are looking for simplicity and security in how they connect people, devices and applications. I’m thrilled to help customers across Europe, UAE, Qatar and Asia Pacific and Japan, to benefit from the transformative impact of Nile’s technology.”
Weston, a former professional football player in the UK before transitioning to technology, has built a career defined by “hands-on” operational rigor, customer success, and a passion for building and leading teams through innovation in order to drive change.
Weston joins Nile during a period of transformative growth with significant interest in zero-trust architectures and operational simplicity delivered by NaaS and AI. According to Nile’s Gartner assessment, by 2029, on-premises Network-as-a-Service will be considered by more than 30% of all enterprises, up from less than 5% in 2025.
Weston’s appointment follows Nile’s recent recognition as a Challenger in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Infrastructure Platform Consumption Services and Visionary in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure.
