Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe has unveiled an ultra-fine pixel pitch module to its direct view LED (dvLED) FE3 Series, made possible by advanced Flip-Chip IMD technology.
Featuring a pixel pitch of just 0.95mm, the new module complements the existing 1.2mm, 1.5mm and 1.9mm options in the FE3 dvLED lineup. Designed for seamless, high-resolution visual performance, FE3 Series modules are available in standard size bundles (104”, 110”, 135” and 165”) or can be customised to any size and shape according to application requirements.
“With the new 0.95mm pixel pitch module, we are extending our benchmark for visual quality in dvLED displays. Our customers benefit from ultra-sharp images, outstanding energy efficiency and versatile installation options, perfect for even the most demanding environments. The further development of the Sharp FE3 Series reflects our philosophy of continuously striving to enhance our solutions,” explains Nils Detje, Product Manager for dvLED Solutions at Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe.
4-in-1 Flip-Chip IMD Technology
The new dvLED module features 4-in-1 Flip-Chip Integrated Matrix device (IMD) technology with its finer 0.95mm pixel pitch enabling higher resolutions, making the module well-suited to close-viewing applications.
Energy efficiency and sustainability are central to the design of the third generation FE Series dvLED modules. While delivering the same brightness, the Flip-Chip IMD technology reduces energy consumption and heat output by up to 60% when compared to standard IMD technology, resulting in lowering operating costs for customers without compromising visual performance. The metal chassis supports heat dissipation, extending the lifespan of the modules, and is flame-resistant, making the displays safe for use in public environments. All modules in the series comply with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Class B standards, ensuring minimal electromagnetic interference and dependable operation alongside other electronic equipment.
Low heat emission and a flush rear profile allow the Sharp FE3 Series to be integrated very close to the wall, with front serviceable modules enabling easy maintenance. Whether wall-mounted or free-standing, the mechanical cabinet design enables precise module alignment resulting in seamless, single surface visual perception.
The new ultra-fine pixel pitch opens up a range of new use cases where higher resolution is essential, while the low heat output supports comfortable viewing at close range and in enclosed spaces:
- Corporate boardrooms and conference spaces: In compact meeting rooms where viewers are seated close to the screen, the high resolution ensures that every detail is clear, enhancing communication and decision-making.
- Broadcast studios and control rooms: Clarity and precision are critical in these environments. The finer pixel pitch delivers sharp, flicker-free visuals for real-time monitoring. Operators benefit from excellent readability of data and graphics, especially during extended viewing periods and under demanding lighting conditions.
- Public information displays in airports or train stations: The enhanced resolution enables compact yet highly legible information displays in high-traffic areas, improving accessibility and the overall user experience.
