PLAYipp and PADS4 are joining forces to form one of the largest independent digital signage software groups in Europe, serving more than 6,500 organisations in over 75 countries through several hundred resellers and integrators.
PLAYipp serves over 4,000 organisations, including large enterprises and public sector bodies, mainly across the Nordics, and another 2,500 companies will be reached through PADS4’s customer base.
PAYipp’s “easy to use” mantra
PLAYipp is a cloud-based digital signage platform that lets organisations create, manage, schedule and publish content to screens from one place. It is aimed particularly at communications, HR and IT teams rather than technical developers.
The basic proposition is: Create → schedule → publish → manage
Thus, rather than needing IT staff to update screens, internal staff can create and publish content themselves, in advance if needed, with drag-and-drop tools, pre-loaded templates, and through one dashboard. The screens are updated from a browser rather than physically accessed. Information for the screens can be pulled from systems such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, calendars and social media.
“Easy to use” is somewhat subjective – largely customer reviews tend to agree, but there are some end user comments that tend to be negative about navigation every so often, but perhaps it is difficult to please all non-IT users all the time.
PADS4
PADS4’s hardware-agnostic enterprise platform also offers digital signage solutions, turning real-time data into intelligent and dynamic visual experiences. It is broader than a straightforward screen-management system such as PLAYipp: it covers digital signage, wayfinding, workspace management, visitor management and airport flight information systems (FIDS).
“Our customers want impact from their communication, and they expect getting there to be easy. PADS4 brings real strength in large and complex environments. Very few companies can offer both. Together we can,” says Henrik Mazzanti, CEO, PLAYipp.
PLAYipp + PADS4
The group serves customers and partners across the 7 continents, in airports, offices, factories, retail and more. Together, PLAYipp and PADS4 aim to build a leading global digital signage software group.
“By joining forces with PLAYipp, we strengthen our European foundation while accelerating our global ambitions. Together with PLAYipp, we have the opportunity to build a stronger and more innovative software group, to reinforce our position as an international leader,” says Philippe Bonnargent, CEO, PADS4.
The goal is an offering combining PLAYipp’s SaaS (software as a service) and AI capabilities alongside PADS4’s depth in data and enterprise solutions. As the companies put it:
“Cloud is the direction, and on-premise stays available for organizations that need it.”
In the meantime, everything stays where it is, and the respective customers will view the same platforms, same contracts, same support teams and contacts.
