PFU launches Highly Adaptable 4K Laser Projector: RICOH PJ UHL3660

PFU (EMEA) has announced the addition of the RICOH PJ UHL3660 UST Laser Projector, to its growing portfolio of smart meeting devices designed to create a more inclusive and lifelike meeting experience.

The new ultra short throw (UST) projector delivers a premium viewing experience for every situation and in every environment including brightly lit or crowded spaces. Its 6,500-lumen brightness, 4K Ultra HD resolution and OptiBright technology produce visibly sharper, clearer images. OptiBright is Ricoh’s twin laser and phosphor combination technology. The bright, sharp images combined with immersive audio create an enhanced realism and dynamic viewing experience for participants, even in public meeting spaces.

Visual presentations anywhere

Where space is limited, the projector offers a 0.24 ultra short throw ratio, creating an 85-inch image from just 1 cm away from the edge of projector – and a maximum projection size of just over 4 metres. Meanwhile it has built-in edge blending software so that multiple units can be combined to achieve very large image projections. Example applications are store signage, museums, covered outdoor entertainment venues or exhibition halls where it can project along walkways, or around the perimeter of a conference making it ideal for the event and entertainment sectors.

With efficiency and economy core to the projector’s design, it offers an incredibly cost-effective and compact alternative to current high lumens UST options on the market.

“The unique OptiBright technology is a key differentiator that helps this projector achieve a level of brightness whilst remaining compact,” said Hiroaki Kashiwagi, President, and CEO of PFU (EMEA) Limited. “Whether you want to make a visual impact in an event venue, covered outdoor spaces, in an office, or somewhere ad-hoc, our smart new UST projector rewrites the rule book by being powerful, and highly adaptable to the way we work now. Welcome to smarter meeting,” Kashiwagi adds.

Key features & benefits

4K quality and rich colours – One of the most powerful projectors in its category, it features 6,500 lumen brightness for visibly clearer, sharper image quality, even in brightly lit or large spaces. Its 4-way pixel shift enables 4K Ultra High-Definition resolution and together with High Dynamic Range and High Contrast mode, it delivers enhanced realism and a more dynamic, life-like viewing experience without the ‘washed-out’ look often associated with projected images.

Higher brightness with lower power consumption and a longer product life all within one compact unit is enabled by the OptiBright technology. In addition, the projector offers 1,073 million colour reproduction and RICOH’s enhanced NCE (Natural Colour Enhancement) technology also provides an extremely rich and vivid colour range beyond the capabilities of most other projectors in this class.

Highly adaptable to challenging applications – The projector can be mounted in multiple ways, including portrait and 360-degree rotation to achieve a range of projection effects. It also incorporates a host of keystone and geometric image correction features to deal with uneven, angled, or unusual projection surfaces.

Offering both HDBaseT wired and Miracast wireless connectivity, source input can be broadcast in a variety of ways. Using its IP address, the projector can be operated wirelessly from a PC, smartphone or, by using Ricoh’s PC apps, up to 100 units can be managed remotely. Using the device’s scheduling function, the projector can be pre-programmed to execute a series of events at specific times or dates automatically.

Robust and safe for public spaces – Suitable for challenging applications, the projector is capable of operating constantly in temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius and with an IP6X dust-proof design. It has a range of safety functions including eye-safety shut-off and projection is safe in close proximity to the public thanks to minimal distance required between the unit and projection surface.

Utilising the built-in Multi Projection software with edge blending enables projectors to be combined to achieve even larger images for limited space applications.

Efficiency and economy – Efficiency and economy are core to the projector’s design. Ownership and replacement costs are reduced thanks to an extra-long 40,000-hour operational lifespan in Long-Life Mode, with no need to replace filters or lamps. With an application to operate up to 100 projectors simultaneously, the RICOH PJ UHL3660 UST Laser Projector delivers a highly adaptable, 4K quality solution in one package.
