Channel-only marketplace and software provider Giacom has appointed Darren Spence as Managing Director – Cloud, with responsibility for leading the company’s cloud business, including its Microsoft and cybersecurity services.
Reporting to Giacom CEO, Terry O’Brien, Darren will be responsible for the commercial performance and development of the cloud business. He will also work with Giacom’s other managing directors to strengthen enablement across cloud and the wider portfolio, helping partners expand the range of services they offer.
Darren brings 30 years of technology industry experience, including senior leadership roles across software, cloud services and IT distribution.
Before joining Giacom, he was Group Managing Director of IT distributor Northamber. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer at data privacy software provider Smartbox.ai, where he developed the company’s commercial strategy, built its sales and marketing operation and recruited a network of leading UK channel partners.
Darren was also Managing Director of Bytes Document Solutions, where he led a successful turnaround, grew the company’s Microsoft and wider technology services business, and established it as Xerox’s largest UK reseller.
