Britannic Technologies, a leading provider of business communications, and Vocala, a smart properties solutions provider, today announced the UK’s first Amazon Alexa smart voice and telephony solution, NetX SmartLink™ for two-way calls with an identifiable UK number, through an exclusive partnership agreement.
Previously, calls from fleet managed Alexa devices appeared as unidentifiable US numbers and could not be linked to a resident, room, or property record. There was also no way for a landline or mobile to call into the Alexa device directly, and any outbound calls could not be returned.
Now with NetX SmartLink™, Amazon’s WebRTC calls are converted to SIP calls via Britannic’s NetX SIP platform, assigning each device with a dedicated UK number (DDI) where two-way calls can integrate directly with contact centres, call management systems, and alarm receiving centres, with no additional software required.
Transforming the Resident and Guest Experience
The NetX SmartLink™ solution combines Vocala’s fleet-managed Alexa devices, voice engagement and smart property workflows with NetX SIP platform to deliver a hands-free, secure, and proactive communication solution for care, supported living, housing associations, hotels, and holiday parks.
Connecting residents and guests to their friends, family, and services they require, tailored to each environment and personalised to every user. Whether that’s calling a friend, asking a hotel for a dinner reservation, a holiday park if there is entertainment on that evening or finding out what time they need to take their medication or report a maintenance issue.
Jonathan Sharp, CEO at Britannic, is delighted to bring the solution to many sectors, stating:
“We are excited to bring the NetX SmartLink™, the UK’s first Alexa two-way calling solution with DDIs, to market. It is a truly intuitive, customisable solution that can be tailored to your business and your residents’ or guests’ needs. It not only improves their experience but also streamlines operations and processes, helping reduce the burden of daily tasks that can be transferred to residents and guests to fulfil. Demand for the solution so far has been high, and we look forward to transforming services and connecting people with the NetX SmartLink™.”
