Wavenet has appointed David Hayward as Director of Mobile, reinforcing its ambition to accelerate growth across its mobile and IoT portfolio.
David joins Wavenet following more than 25 years’ experience in the mobile sector, bringing a proven track record of building and transforming businesses on a global scale.
Throughout his career, David has consistently delivered growth by scaling mobile and IoT divisions, developing high-performing teams, and expanding market presence. He was previously a major shareholder in Pure Telecom, helping build the business prior to its successful sale to Radius in 2019. He then spent seven years at Radius, including two years in Germany, where he led both a mobile distribution operation and a direct sales business.
In his new role, David will focus on accelerating Wavenet’s mobile and IoT strategy. His appointment reflects Wavenet’s continued investment in strengthening its capabilities and unlocking new opportunities across its extensive customer base. David comments:
“I was immediately drawn to the potential within Wavenet. When you look at the strength of the customer base, the quality of our existing services and the investment in the business, all the ingredients are there to build something truly compelling in mobile and IoT. For me, it’s about bringing that to life, raising awareness and adding value to customers. If we can look back in 12 months and see strong growth with a clear story in the market, that’s what success looks like to me.”
Antony Black, Chief Revenue Officer at Wavenet, welcomed David to the business, saying:
“We’re delighted to welcome David to Wavenet. His experience, energy and track record in building successful mobile and IoT businesses speak for themselves. As we continue to evolve our proposition, David will play a pivotal role in shaping our mobile strategy and driving the next phase of growth. His vision strongly aligns with our ambition to deliver greater value to customers and strengthen our position in the market.”
Looking ahead, David will prioritise team expansion, service innovation, and strengthening Wavenet’s go-to-market approach, while championing the role of IoT in helping customers improve efficiency and unlock new value.
