TalkTalk Business ARO Merger: MSP Connectivity in One

TalkTalk Business and ARO Technology announced a merger on 14 August 2026. It is a fairly significant UK channel/MSP (managed service provider) deal because it combines a large connectivity business with a broader managed IT services provider. TalkTalk Business has recently separated from the wider TalkTalk Group, and the ARO deal is probably part of its attempt to develop into a much broader managed technology business. Earlier in 2026 TalkTalk Business acquired Planet IT, expanding its managed services capabilities. ARO is a UK MSP, a rebrand of Arrow Business Communications Limited in November 2023, and the company has expanded beyond its telecoms heritage into a much broader technology portfolio. Established in 2005, ARO has built up its customer base through acquisitions such as Altinet, Click Networks, Complete Networks, UK-tec, AIMES Management Services, Pescado, Circle IT Solutions and Bruhan. ARO’s strengths complement TalkTalk Business particularly well. ARO provides managed IT, cloud, cybersecurity, communications, connectivity and mobile services. The company claims it has around 8,000 customers, stating on its website:
“With 8,000 customers and counting, we manage over 100,000 mobile devices, 60,000 hosted telecom seats, and deliver secure connectivity for more than 4,500 companies. Every day, over 600,000 end users trust us to keep them protected.”
So although both businesses have telecoms roots, ARO brings considerably more IT, cloud and cybersecurity capability to the combination. ARO’s ISO certification lists the provision of services such as AV/video conferencing, business mobile, cloud telephony, contact centre, cybersecurity, data centre services, data services, IT and software development. A merger, not a Buyout The two companies are merging, rather than TalkTalk Business simply buying ARO. The strategic logic is quite straightforward: TalkTalk Business brings connectivity, networks and communications + ARO brings managed IT, cloud and cybersecurity = a much broader MSP. Instead of selling a customer connectivity and then relying on other suppliers for the rest of its IT estate, the combined company wants to become a single technology partner capable of providing most of those services itself. That makes the longer-term question particularly interesting for the channel: can the combined company cross-sell ARO’s higher-value cloud, cyber and managed IT services into TalkTalk Business’s much larger connectivity customer base? If it can, that is where much of the value of the merger lies. Q1. Is there a new name for the combined company? A. Not yet. As of 28 August 2026, no new name has been announced for the combined TalkTalk Business/ARO company. The official announcement says that, initially, both companies will continue operating under their existing brands and from their existing offices while integration plans progress. Q2. Have any personnel changes been announced? A. As of 28 August 2026, no significant personnel changes have been publicly announced as part of the TalkTalk Business–ARO merger. Both existing CEOs remain publicly associated with their respective businesses: The transaction is also still subject to regulatory clearance under the National Security and Investment Act, expected by the end of summer 2026, which may explain why detailed management and integration plans haven’t yet been made public.
