• Per Narvinger, currently EVP and Head of Business Area Networks, to become President and CEO of Ericsson
• Börje Ekholm to step down on 30 September 2026, and act as executive advisor to the new CEO until 15 June 2027
Ericsson has announced that Per Narvinger has been appointed President and CEO by the Board of Directors as Börje Ekholm has decided to step down as CEO of Ericsson.
Jan Carlson, Chair of Ericsson’s Board of Directors, has commented:
“The Board is pleased to announce that Per Narvinger has been appointed CEO of Ericsson as of October 1, 2026. He has deep technical knowledge of our industry as well as extensive commercial experience and has proved himself in several key leadership positions. The Board is very pleased to welcome Per into this role at a very important time for the company.”
Per Narvinger joined Ericsson in 1997 and has been afforded a broad experience in the company, including research and standardization, development, product management, and sales, either at the headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, or gained in Australia and Spain. Narvinger has worked in various senior leadership roles where he has engaged with key customers globally. Most recently, Narvinger has headed Business Area Networks since March 2025, and prior to that he headed Business Area Cloud Software and Services since 2022.
Per Narvinger, new President and CEO, has said:

Börje Ekholm
After more than nine years as President and CEO of Ericsson, and 20 years as a member of the Board of Directors, Börje Ekholm will retire from the Company, stepping down from his role as President and CEO at the end of September 2026 and thereafter act as executive advisor to the new CEO until 15 June 2027. He will also step down from the Board of Directors as of 1 October 2026.

Börje Ekholm comments his departure:
