Gamma appoints new CFO and Executive Director

Gamma Communications has appointed Damien Maltarp as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director. Maltarp will succeed Bill Castell who will be leaving the Group at the end of the month to take up an executive role at Arrive.

Damien Maltarp brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience across telecoms and capital markets, with previous roles at London Stock Exchange Group and BT Group, including CFO positions within BT’s Enterprise and Wholesale divisions.

CEO Andrew Belshaw has commented:

“I’ve known Damien since his time as CFO of BT Wholesale and I’m thrilled that he has chosen to join us. Currently with the London Stock Exchange Group after having spent ten years at BT Group, Damien brings extensive finance and leadership experience in the telecoms sector. He will be a huge asset as we continue to scale across Europe and deliver on our long‑term strategy. I’d also like to thank Bill for his outstanding leadership. His impact on Gamma’s growth and our European expansion has been significant. Thank you, Bill, and all the best for your new role.”

Maltarp will join Gamma and the Board later this year, with an exact date to be confirmed. In the interim, a senior member of Gamma’s finance function will manage the internal financial operations, reporting directly to chief executive Andrew Belshaw.

Damien Maltarp, on being appointed, has said:

“I am delighted to be joining Gamma, a business I have admired for some time. This is an incredibly exciting time for the group as Gamma further strengthens its position as a European provider of business-critical technology. I look forward to working with Andrew and the team and contributing to the group’s continued success.”
