Intel New Core Ultra 200HX Plus Series Mobile Processors for Gamers

Intel® Core™ Ultra 200HX Plus series includes new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus

Intel today announced the launch of its new Intel® Core™ Ultra 200HX Plus series mobile processors, giving gamers and professionals new high-performance options in the Core Ultra 200 series family.

Introducing Two New Processors

Optimized for advanced gaming, streaming, content creation, and workstation use, the Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series introduces two new processors – Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus.

These processors add new features and architectural refinements, including support for the new Intel Binary Optimization Tool, a first-of-its-kind binary translation layer optimization capability that can improve native performance in select games.

Josh Newman, General Manager and Vice President of Product Marketing, Client Computing Group at Intel proudly stated:

“With the introduction of the Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series, we’re pushing mobile computing performance even further for the gamers, creators, and professionals who demand the best. With higher die-to-die frequencies and our new Intel Binary Optimization Tool, the new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Ultra 7 270HX Plus deliver meaningful, real‑world performance gains so users can experience smoother gameplay, faster creation workflows, and more responsive workstation performance.”

Improved Performance

The Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus delivers up to +8% faster gaming performance and up to 7% faster single thread performance versus the previous generation Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX (based on internal testing against various titles). Those upgrading from older devices will see as much as +62% faster gaming performance (internal testing across 32 titles) and up to 30% faster single-threaded performance versus the Intel Core i9-12900HX (as measured by Cinebench testing). All results may vary based on end user configuration, but Intel are confident the next-gen models are an improvement from previous models.

Notable new specifications and features include:

  • Up to 900MHz boost to the die-to-die frequency compared to Intel Core Ultra 7 285HX and Intel Core Ultra 7 265HX. This increases the speed of the CPU/memory controller link by nearly one gigahertz, driving system latency down and gaming performance up.
  • Support for the new Intel Binary Optimization Tool, a first-of-its-kind optimization technology leveraging Intel’s 40-year history in workload optimization to increase processor instructions per cycle (IPC) and user performance, even if the workload has been optimized for another x86 processor, a game console, or an earlier architecture. This technology sits next to exciting hardware advancements as a key aspect of Intel’s long-term performance roadmap for enthusiasts.
  • Advanced connectivity for gaming and creating, including support for discrete Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), Intel Wireless Bluetooth® 5.4, and Intel Thunderbolt™ 5, giving users up to 80 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth to transfer massive files, stream 8K media, charge devices, and daisy-chain multiple accessories to a single PC.
