Sipsynergy and its Callroute service have joined 8×8. Callroute was built to simplify telephony and connect calling directly into collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Webex.
EHC to retire
As part of the transition, Sipsynergy’s Enterprise Hosted Voice (EHC) will be retired, while Business Hosted Voice (BHC) will transition to Callroute’s modern, AWS-hosted cloud platform. Details for existing customers will soon be shared, detailing end-of-life timelines along with clear migration guidance.
The BHC service is currently being migrated to Callroute’s cloud platform. Once completed, all associated phone numbers will be fully manageable through the Callroute portal. This will provide customers with additional options to migrate to Teams or Webex at a pace that suits their needs, or continue using BHC, which will remain fully supported. Current customers’ SIP trunking service will be migrated to Callroute and some equipment reconfiguration may be required, and full guidance will given at the appropriate time.
The acquisition by 8×8 brings together Callroute’s universal orchestration engine with 8×8’s sovereign global network and engineering scale.
Callroute partners and customers benefit
Callroute customers can take delivery of a single, integrated solution for Teams Phone, Contact Center, and Direct Routing management. Additionally they will be able to manage multi-vendor environments easily, and voice traffic will be backed with a sovereign, carrier-grade network foundation.
Existing Sipsynergy/Callroute partnerships, services, and points of contact remain unchanged. Customers are being encouraged to begin migrating as soon as possible to benefit from simplified operations, modern integrations such as Voice AI, and a future-proof solution.
