Entry-level now Faster: AGON by AOC adds 260 Hz to G4 series

AGON by AOC – the world’s leading gaming monitor brand – has introduced the 23.8-inch (60.5 cm) AOC GAMING 24G4ZR and the AOC GAMING 27-inch (68.6 cm) 27G4ZR monitor.

Two new monitors that elevate the baseline for entry-level competitive gaming. Built around Fast IPS panels with 260 Hz overclocked refresh rates (240 Hz native), rapid 0.3 ms MPRT and up to 1 ms GtG response times, these Full HD displays deliver the speed and clarity that fast-paced gaming demands, at prices that make competitive performance genuinely attainable.

With Tilt

Tilt-only stand alternatives, the 24G4ZRE and 27G4ZRE, will also be available for gamers seeking even greater value and affordability.

César Acosta, Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC, affirms:

“260 Hz and 0.3 ms MPRT used to be specs reserved for esports-focussed higher-tier displays. With the 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR, we’re making that level of speed the new starting point, because every competitive player deserves a monitor that keeps up with them.”

The AOC GAMING 24G4ZR, 27G4ZR, 24G4ZRE, and 27G4ZRE will be available from February 2026 at the following MSRPs:

• 27G4ZRE: £129

The Refresh Rate race is ON!

Not long ago, 260 Hz and sub-millisecond response times were specs end users could only find on esports-grade displays with price tags to match. Entry-level gaming monitors offered solid performance, but competitive players who wanted the fastest panels had to step up.

The new monitors, 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR, mark a shift.

AOC GAMING brings 260 Hz overclocked performance and 0.3 ms MPRT response times to the G4 entry-level line-up, joining existing models like the 200 Hz 24G4HA and 27G4HA. For players picking up their first dedicated gaming monitor, whether diving into Counter-Strike 2, grinding ranked in Valorant, or pushing for Diamond in Rainbow Six Siege, this is competitive-grade speed at a competitive price tag.

Response times of up to 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT ensure that fast-moving action stays crisp and ghost-free, while Adaptive-Sync technology and official NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility eliminates screen tearing across variable framerates. The result is gameplay that feels immediate and precise, always one step ahead of one’s reflexes.

All monitors support MBR Sync, allowing simultaneous use of a variable refresh rate (Adaptive-Sync) and backlight strobing technology to achieve sub 1 ms MPRT figures at a wide refresh rate range (48-260 Hz), offering gamers sharp visuals and clarity without tear or stutter.

The monitors come with a 240 Hz refresh rate by default, which is the de-facto esports standard, but the overclocked 260 Hz refresh rate can be easily enabled in the monitor’s menu or the G-Menu software by selecting the relevant setting only once.

No Sacrifices

Both monitors utilise Fast IPS panel technology, combining the rapid response times needed for competitive gaming with the vibrant colour reproduction and wide viewing angles that IPS is known for. The 27-inch models deliver 121.5% sRGB and 92.3% DCI-P3 coverage, while the 23.8-inch versions offer 111.7% sRGB and 87.7% DCI-P3, ensuring punchy, accurate visuals that bring game worlds to life without washing out in darker scenes.

300 cd/m² brightness provides clear visibility in any lighting condition, while wide 178°/178° viewing angles mean colours stay consistent even when leaning in during intense moments or sharing the screen with teammates.

In it for the Long Game

The 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR feature full ergonomic stands with 130 mm height adjustment, tilt (-3°/21°), swivel (±28°), and pivot (±90°) functionality, allowing players to dial in their perfect viewing position. This is essential for maintaining comfort and focus during long gaming sessions and tournament runs.

The esports-influenced low profile stand base takes only minimal space on the desk and allows comfy keyboard and mouse positioning. Whilst the 3-sided frameless G4 design keeps the aesthetic clean and modern, lending itself to seamless multi-monitor set-ups. VESA 100×100 mounting compatibility provides additional flexibility for players who prefer monitor arms or wall mounting.

The tilt-only 24G4ZRE and 27G4ZRE variants offer the same panel performance in a streamlined package for set-ups where full ergonomic adjustment isn’t required.

Game, Connected and Match Ready

Comprehensive connectivity includes 2x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DisplayPort 1.4 inputs while the G-Menu software offers easy access to display settings and gaming presets optimised for different genres. Flicker-free technology and hardware-based low blue light feature reduce eye strain during marathon gaming sessions.

Two sizes, one competitive edge

The 23.8-inch 24G4ZR and 24G4ZRE offer the compact form factor preferred by many competitive players, minimising head movement and allowing full focus on the action. The 27-inch 27G4ZR and 27G4ZRE provide a larger canvas for players who want more immersion without sacrificing speed. All four monitors share identical refresh rates and response times, letting gamers choose purely based on their size preference and set-up.
