Onecom’s 14th acquisition: Matrix IT

IT and Communications service provider Onecom has acquired Matrix IT, a Microsoft Solutions Partner providing professional IT services across the South Coast, in key areas such as Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Sussex.

The acquisition marks Onecom’s 14th since 2020, whilst it continues to strengthen its managed IT and Microsoft services capabilities.

Matrix IT employs more than 45 people, with approximately two-thirds of its workforce dedicated to service delivery. These capabilities strengthen Onecom’s operational capacity, expands its technical bench, and enhances its ability to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade IT services across managed IT, cloud, cybersecurity, and Microsoft solutions.

Nic Cronin, Managing Director of Matrix IT, comments:

“Joining Onecom creates an exciting opportunity for our customers and our team. With Onecom’s scale, investment, and breadth of services, we can expand our capabilities, enhance our Microsoft offering, and continue delivering the high standards of service our customers expect.”

The acquisition builds on Onecom’s growing IT services portfolio following the successful integration of Excalibur Communications, IMS, and Daly Systems, especially in the area of Microsoft-centric solutions. Customers will benefit from deeper Microsoft expertise, expanded service coverage, increased service delivery capacity, and a broader portfolio spanning managed IT, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, connectivity, and communications, whilst maintaining trusted relationships.

Darren Ridge, CEO of Onecom, has stated:

“This acquisition strengthens Onecom’s IT services proposition in a meaningful way. Matrix IT brings proven Microsoft expertise, a strong delivery-focused team, and a high-quality customer base that complements our growing managed IT portfolio. This move accelerates our ability to deliver secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready IT services to customers across the UK.”

With the backing of LDC, Onecom continues to execute its buy-and-build strategy, combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions to deepen technical capability, strengthen service delivery, and expand its national footprint.
