Nimans Reveals Ambitious Growth Plans for 2025 and Beyond at BT Tower Event

Nimans looks beyond the Switch Off

Nimans Unveils Exciting Plans for 2025 and Beyond at BT Tower Event

Currently, Nimans boasts an impressive annual turnover of approximately £135 million, but John Bird, Director of Category Sales at Nimans, hinted at even more significant growth on the horizon. He outlined their ambitious four-to-five-year plan, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting new clients and emerging technologies. Their presence extends beyond the UK, with UPC operations across Europe, a Poly distribution business in the US, and expansion plans in New Zealand.

Bird proudly announced that Nimans is the exclusive distributor for BT headsets in the UK, solidifying their position as a key player in the market. Additionally, they’ve become the largest distributor of gaming solutions in the UK and were acquired by Midwich in February, further boosting their global presence.

One of the most exciting announcements at the event was Nimans’ transformation of their “Beyond” division. Previously a separate entity, Beyond is now integrated into the company’s core operations. Bird described Beyond as a business unit that offers a comprehensive portfolio of connectivity, hosted solutions, and services across various technologies, including voice over IP, video conferencing, networking, and CCTV.

What sets Beyond apart is its versatility, accommodating cloud solutions, be it private, public, or hybrid. Moreover, Beyond provides access to independent Financial Services Bureau leasing services and technical support, all delivered by in-house teams with a collective 40 years of experience.

Bird also highlighted the extensive resources backing Nimans’ new venture. With a dedicated channel sales team, they serve around 2,500 resellers and manage major accounts. Their brand managers cover a wide range of product sets, ensuring a holistic approach to customer needs. Nimans takes pride in its logistics capabilities, boasting a 99.8% on-time delivery rate. They offer warehousing support, project support, in-house demonstrations, and power cell support. Nimans can even pre-configure handsets before shipping, making the process seamless for customers.

Looking beyond conventional contracts, Nimans intends to revolutionize the industry with hybrid telephony solutions and a subscription-based model. This approach allows for API integrations into third-party products and customizable platforms, empowering customers to build solutions that fit their unique requirements without being tied to long-term contracts. Bird revealed that Nimans handles over four and a half million calls every month, showcasing their exceptional billing accuracy of 99.8%. The team thoroughly analyzes bills to ensure precision, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.

John Bird concluded the event by expressing Nimans’ dedication to their clients, emphasizing that their fantastic team is always ready to provide unwavering support. As Nimans steps confidently into the future, their commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions remains at the forefront of their vision.

EE Announces Sunset of 3G Mobile Signals: Transitioning to 5G Connectivity

EE has officially announced plans to sunset its 3G mobile signals, transitioning customers to more advanced 4G and 5G connectivity. This move comes as part of EE’s ongoing efforts to enhance network efficiency, provide better service quality, and align with the rapid evolution of mobile technologies.

The announcement was made during a joint presentation by Sam Johnson, Partner Sales Manager, and George Bateman, EE Lead Consultant Specialist. The presentation emphasized the technological advancements that have occurred since the inception of 3G, highlighting the capabilities of the 4G and 5G networks in comparison. Johnson explained that the 3G network, which has been in operation since the days of Orange and T-Mobile, is now considered outdated and increasingly difficult to maintain due to scarcity of components and high operational costs.

Bateman noted that the 3G network would be deactivated by the end of December. Pilot programs are already underway to assess the impact on customers, and EE is actively reaching out to users still reliant on 3G to encourage them to transition to 4G and 5G networks. He also emphasized that EE is committed to supporting customers throughout this transition, facilitating the replacement of 3G devices and SIM cards with modern alternatives.

Paul Day, EE’s Partner Sales Manager of Mobility & IoT Development, highlighted the company’s efforts to ensure a smooth migration process for customers. EE offers a range of solutions, including aggregated data plans tailored for various user needs. The company aims to provide greater cost certainty and flexibility for businesses through these new plans, addressing the concerns of unexpected overage charges. Additionally, EE has revamped its roaming offerings, introducing simplified and inclusive daily roaming options, ensuring that customers can use their devices abroad without fear of surprise charges.

EE also stressed its commitment to providing seamless connectivity in critical situations, such as emergency services networks, remote coverage, and transportation systems. The presentation underscored the advantages of EE’s extensive network coverage, spectrum licensing, and penetration into buildings.

As EE prepares to phase out 3G, the company is determined to offer innovative solutions that cater to the diverse needs of its customers. The focus remains on providing reliable, high-speed, and future-ready mobile connectivity while ensuring a smooth transition for all users still relying on 3G technology. With these changes, EE continues to solidify its position as a leading force in the UK’s mobile telecommunications landscape.
